The tallest person is my cousin Bryan... he is 6'4" or 6'5". The shortest person I know is my friends mother... she is just at 5 feet tall. Actually, the shortest person I know is my 6 week old cousin, but I assume you mean adults. Ha ha.

I had a friend that almost a foot shorter than I am and I am short myself. My daughter is the shortest person in her age group and grade by almost a foot. She comes to almost all her classmates' shoulders but she is one of the oldest people in her class. Who knew?!
I know 2 couples that are both in the 6 ft. or more category.

My cousin is seven feet tall he lives in San Francisco, and has to duck to get into a doorway. But for official statistics go look in the "Guiness book of world records".
