Report the card stolen IMMEDIATELY!!!
Any fraudulent charges that occur, should be charged off by the bank. They will issue you a new card, with a new PIN.

I've been banking for six years now. If TK MAXX had a security breach and cards were stolen, then your bank will notify its customers if there cards were compromised and issue new cards. If your card was affected, your bank will notify you. If you want to do it just for peace of mind, go right ahead. Getting a new card number issued and having the old one deactivated would solve the problem before it occurs.

Call your bank and tell them to stop any transactions going through on that card and call TK Maxx and tell them to cancel your account with them. Don't wait for the fraud to take place!

Reporting of lost or stolen card and card information is most IMPORTANT.Do it immediately. There will be 24 hr helpline for all card services.Replacing card is next. But checking of Bank Statement is a must as card accounting is not 100 percent faultfree and may include charges for even prompt payments. If you donot check bank statement you can prevent such loss.Preserve all bills, charge slip copies and check when you receive statement.

Where did you get your information concerning this theft of card details? If it wasn't a snail mail letter from Maxx, then, you need to call the local store and confirm this report..
otherwise, could a scam.. If they CONFIRM it, then, you would call the bank and get them to replace the card..

When they change your bank card, all your account details remain the same on it, but the 16-digit number across the centre changes by 2 digits so you may find that where it said 0001, it may say 0002 in one block & in another block, where it said 1000, it will now say 2000, so they will change those digits, to prevent fraudulent activity on your account.
