west coast usa comcast is pretty cool cuz u can push them around pretty easily and get a good promo deal. tell them dsl switch deal and you'll get 30 bucks a month for a year 6mb/s. No Contract too!

Do NOT go with AT&T. First they bought @home and became ATTBI (at&t broadband internet). Then they went broke and sold out to comcast. Then they had a Cell phone service, went broke, and sold out to Cingular. Then they bought rights to the yellow pages from SBC and got some money again. Then they bought out SBC DSL (mind you their main DSL they're trying to sell is 768 kbps, only 13x faster than dialup!) Now they're trying to get cell phone service from Cingular back. Is that a company you want to trust? lol. Comcast has 6mbps speed, 107x faster than dial-up. You do the math.

Ws using orange but left as their unlimited package is only as long as you don't download more than 40gb per month. That and I signed up for an 8mb package then they changed things so I would need to take a new 12month contract to actually get 8mb that I disagreed with.

Now with BT and apart from a few problems with the cheap nasty home hub I am quite happy.

definite. once you're downloading on a peer to work out community (what Limewire makes use of) there is not any appropriate server so it is all connecting one computing device to a distinctive and particularly some connection factors are open at as quickly as. That cuts down on all available bandwidth. besides, while you're employing Limewire to get song and video clips which you may in any different case could desire to purchase then you definately are breaking the regulation.

Orange, it's free with my contract phone. All you have to do is sign up for a 12mnth contract over £30.

I was with Virgin.Net using my Compaq Presario 7482 on Windows 98 whom I had been with on dial up for six years. They pressured me to buy their Broadband which I eventually agreed to do.

But despite attempts over two weeks to get it operational it never worked. They charged me a huge amount for phone call advice from them to try and get their broadband working. But despite 120 minutes of their phone advice we were unable to get it operational! . So I asked virgin.net to take it back and to put me back on dial up 24-7.. Virgin Net then refused to let me go on to 24-7 dial up. They alleged BT no longer had this facility from my home number, so unless I changed to Broadband they could only put me on PAYG! That meant paying about five times more to use my PC than I had hitherto .

So I left Virgin.net and changed to Tiscali. Tiscali put me on 24-7 dial-up without problem inferring the allegation that BT could not put me back on 24-7 dial up was a lie! My dial up now works better than it ever did with Virgin Net still on Windows 98 with my Presario 7482. So I am never having anything to do with Virgin Net again, nor will try to go on broadband ever again with anybody. My 24-7 dial up with Tiscali gets me through brilliantly to anywhere without hassle and it is cheaper and better than when I was with Virgin.Net.

I think you might want to visit the following website http://www.dslreports.com/overview?v=r

It has reviews of broadband providers in pretty much every state, from consumers like yourself.
