My husband called from work and is bleeding bright red blood when he has a bowl movement. His hand is numb and now his leg is too. He refuses to leave work to see a Dr. because he is the only foreman there. Please tell me what this could mean. Oh, his stomach is starting to hurt under his rib cage.

It means that he should get to a doctor very quickly! The most benign explanation is hemorrhoids, but he should not have the other pain with hemorrhoids. Ulcerative colitis and cancer can both have bright red blood in the stool as a symptom. Both of these are very serious diseases, and delay in getting treatment could result in most unpleasant consequences. If he has had alternating diarrhea and constipation, then ulcerative colitis is a strong possibility. This is not something to mess around with. As soon as he finishes his shift, get him to an ER or other medical facility. Do not delay any more than absolutely necessary!

This a command question and many men have this problem. If you husband has hemorrhoids then the blood could be from one or two of them popping. He could have injured them while wiping, or maybe he has eaten something that is not right for his body. I know if I eat chicken or pork i bleed bright red blood for a day or to. If the blood is deep dark red or nearly black it is more serious and he should go to the hospital as soon as possible, and not stop at home. Deep Dark Red Blood in the Stool or urine is very serious problem and requires medical treatment.
