They should stop worring so much about the stupid so called "war against terroism" All they want is the oil. I personally don't think there is much they can do there, while we do have the power to help millions of people in Africa. The world is just screwed up sometimes I guess.

You are correct. The main goal is to get, get, get. and to bomb whoever does not going along with the getting. Africa needs so much help, its ashamed we do not help her more.

I think that it is because they don't feel that they have anything to gain from it. Take China for instance, did you know that they refuse to help the people of Darfur because they are invested in the oil in that region and the Arabs who are committing the genocides are the ones who control them?
Africa is a very rich continent and I think that it would have been much better off if western nations didn't insist on stealing everything from it (including its people) and made their countries rich and beautiful with the hardship of others. When I see how scenic and beautiful European countries are as compared to countries in Africa and Central and South America I get sick to my stomach. No one can say that there is nothing that can be done about genocide. If the American government can step in for Jewish people during the Holocaust then why can't anyone help now? It is the same thing. And the millions that are given to Africa by the way don't even begin to cover the debts and restrictions that organizations such as The World Bank and the IMF impose. The issues that are going on there need more than money and people need to stop sweeping it under the rug like it is not important. As far as corrupt governments go, when Bush decided to send troops to Iraq and Saddam Hussein was overthrown he was a violent dictator. If you can get rid of people like him and Hitler then you can handle a few dictators in Africa. People are posting their opinions here making excuses. I can mention any event in history where the U.S. and other nations around the globe have gotten involved when something very similar to the problems in Africa occurred.

Well we cant help a continent that cant even help themselves. There is only so much the U.S gov't can do. Do you have any idea how corrupt the goverments are over there? Some of the top dictators in the world are right there in Africa. They rape, steal, dismember, and kill their own people. What is the U.S suppossed to about that? Hell we have problems right here on the homefront that needs to be addressed. Such as illegal immigration, taxes, gas prices, Global Warming, the Iraq War. We cant even get politicians to care about the needs of their own people. If they dont give a rats a** about us they sure dont give a rats a** about anyone else.

Africa doesn't have unlimited quantities of cheap, easily-accessible OIL. So we throw a few billions bucks at the problem, and hope it will go away on its own. If there were OIL PROFITS to be wreaked from the Darfur havoc, we'd be there with the entire backing of the giant U.S. military-industrial complex. -RKO- 04/28/07

it dosent directly affect their surroundings. european countries like England, France,Germany, and Belgium are the most resposible for Africa's social and economic problems. Also watch black hawk down Americans dont wont their soldiers dieing for those types of things which they feel dont effect them. The international community wants the US to help because their a super power this puts the government in a no win situation.

All the money we spend to "fix" other countries could be better spent right here at home. Instead, we've got people who are homelss and hungry and scores of others who have no health insurance. There is no excuse for any of that when we are the richest nation in the world.

Your kidding me. Right? We give millionsto Africa. Why don't the warlords in Africa do more about their own issues? Why does the US have to be the major giver here. We are far into debt as it is.

Because when we get involved, we're accused of Nation Building and Meddling. When we try to be neutral, we're accused of not doing enough. Ask the U.N. why they're not doing enough.
