No it is not possible
In certain circumstances the police or Customs and Excise can do that but no one else.
Your daughter will be ok, but lesson learned for the future

No the number cannot be traced to an address by legal means. To be perfectly honest it is probably safer to give out a mobile number rather than a landline number, however neither are encouraged by ISPs in their chat rooms.
If I was you I wouldn't be concerned, obviously you can never tell who was chatting to your daughter online so keep a close eye on her messages and calls for a while just to give yourself some peace of mind. If you are suspicious, then change her number which your network operator can help you with.

If the person who has the number has some idea where your daughter might be then he/she could find her by being in the right area and seeing who answers their phone. You need to think if any other information was given out. The safest option is to get a new number ASAP.; should only cost around £10 either for a new sim or reprogramming by the operator
Lesson learned I hope

It's not possible, but if you're really worried, ask the network to change the phone number. I got my number changed when it accidently got leaked. If you're with a sympathetic network, they'll either change it, or send a new SIM card.

reverse phone number search compiles hundreds of millions of phone book records to help locate the owner's name, location, time zone, email and other public information.
Use a reverse phone lookup to:
Get the identity of an unknown caller.
Identify an area code.
Recall the name of a person whose number you wrote down.
Identify an unfamiliar phone number that shows up on your bill.

It is possible but only in extreme circumstances and the police need to sanction it!
The usually do it for example if someone goes missing!
My advise to you is to get your daughter a new sim card (assuming she's on oay as you go!)- better to be safe.

It's not likely but it is theoretically possible. Just to be sure it wouldn't hurt to get a new phone and number.
