Hotel Grand Continental in downtown Kuching is a 3-star hotel and the price starts from RM185 (including breakfast for 2 person). You won't be able to find a hotel for RM70-100 unless you check out the backpackers joint. Check out this site for details.

no money is absolutely right. your budget is the rate of a whore house.
and Bobby also is right. Hotel Fata and Borneo Hotel are whore houses. they are in fact favorite spots for Kuching ppl to visit prostitute...LOL
they aren't that bad but sometimes they get raided by police

I've stayed in both of these budget hotels but the 2*star rating that they have been given could be described as 'over generous'.

price range. sometimes Holiday Inn offers a special
rate which is slightly higher than your price range.
(but more value for your money than Borneo Hotel)
