I just bought my civic 2 weeks ago. Waiting for dealer apointment, but I was wondering if anyone know why the car would made a horrible almost deathly squeeling noise when I got up to 30 mph and only stop when I went back to zero. Brakes dont feel like they are stuck, timing belts are brand new. I am stumped. 1000 miles on it.

Without any other info, like where the sound seems to be coming from, I would say that it is a bearing seizing, whether it is a wheel-bearing, or a bearing in the trans-axle is going to be mainly $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. Good luck!

Wear indicators on the front brake pads are scraping on the brake rotors.

They are designed to do that so that the driver takes his car in to have the mechanic say "You need new brakes".

So here goes....You need new brakes.

ADDED:

Oh, 1000 miles, new car.......Duh..
I have no idea......I supose you could have lost one of your brake pads. They do come off the backing plate. Just not very often.

there is a disk like thing behind the rim. i don't know the name of it but it makes a sweeking noise when it gets worn out. but that shouldn't be the problem cause its a new car but new cars have defects too.
