Her mean boyfriend just broke up with her and I was thinking about sending her flowers that say "Feel better!"

Is that a bad idea?

And what would be a good soothing type of flower to send?

She was going to stay at my apartment last night but she left crying because she needed to be alone.

Of course it is not a bad idea and it is very lucky for her to have a friend caring as you!

Pink roses or pink tulips are nice to send. The flower meaning of pink roses is "friendship" and pink tulips is "caring". You can take a look of some flower examples at here: http://super-sweet-date.com/ESS/romantic_flowers_T.html

The flower meaning for different colors of tulip & rose is listed by the following, you can take it as a reference and avoid sending her the wrong ones.

Tulip
pink - caring
purple - royalty
red - declaration of love
white - forgiveness
yellow - hopelessly in love

Rose
pink - friendship
red - passionate love
red & white - unity
white - purity
yellow - zealous

Wish your friend will pass over the sad times and smile happily again! :-)

Giving is always the best thing you can do for anyone. And flowers are a great idea for a boost of self esteem! Perhaps white roses as a symbol for a bad relationship coming to an end. Don't forget a few words of encouragement on how she will meet someone better and more deserving of her in time, and now the two of you will have more time to do some fun girl stuff - like shopping!

Sending her something to lift her spirits is never a bad idea but maybe not to work. People will see them and ask her what they are for and she will have to relive the break up everytime she has to explain it. Send them to her home, or if you want to do it at work make it small or make it a green plant (like an ivy or something like that) so its everlasting (like your friendship) and not so obvious. She and you will be the only ones that know why its there!
