Sounds like you have a bank token and a piece of Spanish colonial silver. The Spanish silver coins made in Mexico and other places in Latin America came in 1/2 reale, one reale, tow reales, 4 reales, and 8 reales denominations. The eight reales was known as a "piece of eight" or a "Spanish Milled Dollar". These are some of the most interesting coins in the world, and at one time they circulated on nearly every continent. They are as well the basis of the original US coinage.

I need a little more info on the Carlos III coin. It says more than just Carlos the III on the obverse. The M aster Rex does it have a small o over it? It maybe a coin from Spain or one from Spanish America. I also need the diameter to tell what denomination it is. The most common have an 8R on it. The other is a bank token from Canada and there are a lot of them. In order to really help you I need photo's or scans (good ones). If interested email here at Yahoo and I will give you my home email address, so you can send the scans.
