A Queen, I've got the wave perfected and I think I could pull off the hat thing as well.

If I was a chess piece i'd be a King because just like a chessmaster playing the game of chess it is important that he move his king wisely - each and every move I make is well thought of and critically affects the flow of my life. A single move or none at all is important to my success as a person.

It depends on the texture of the game that is your life.
the bishop spys weaknesses to sweep in from afar loosening things up with a sacrifice
the impish knight occupies a pesky immovable outpost
the queen is like the Wolf in Pulp Fiction arriving with authority to set things straight
the rook acts as a powerful guardian and shepherd
the king waits patiently overseeing, depending on his family to thrive, stepping up to support his children when the time is at hand
pawns direct the quantity, quality and direction of flow, in the end when opportunity presents itself they blossom into greatness to save the day

I don't play chess. My Father taught me how to play chess when I was a child and now I've forgotten! He's passed away.

The queen, it's like the rook and the bishop combined. So much better than all the other pieces, plus I'd be black, if black was one of the colours.

I'd be a rook. It is the most powerful piece next to the queen, which I could not be because I am the wrong gender.
