My favorite thing during pregnancy was ginger water. Take fresh ginger root, grate it up, and boil it in a bunch of water for about 10 or 15 minutes. Then, strain the ginger out, put it in a pitcher, and refridgerate it. It's yummy, cool, refreshing, and nice to have on hand whenever you're sick. Use this once you are nauseous.
To prevent getting nauseous in the first place, ALWAYS have food in your stomach. Get in the habit of munch on crackers or anything, all day long. I know when you don't feel good, the last thing you want to do is eat, but if you force yourself, and then KEEP food in your stomach, you'll avoid morning sickness in the first place.
This will all subside between 12-15 weeks.

I have these same symptoms, too, and they make me really miserable. Because of all the excess saliva I actually have to keep a cup near me to spit it out, or else I have to swallow it and that makes me sicker....
Someone suggested sugar free gum to me but it did not stop the saliva production, it just made the saliva taste minty! LOL. There is no remedy for it since it is an effect of pregnancy hormones. It will go away on its own after your first trimester.
As far as nausea goes, peppermint tea or ginger tea (in moderation) sometimes help settle a woman's stomach, but if you are having "heavy nausea" like I do, then most "home grown" remedies will only ease it but not make it go away.
One thing that IS proven to help is to try to have some food on your stomach as hunger will increase nausea. Since you probably don't feel like eating anything, work hard on at least finding a few things you can tolerate and keep a little in your stomach. For me, it was stuff like cold sprite, pretzels and beef jerkey (for the protein).
I found if I could get some food in my tummy I would never throw up, although I would still feel sick. It really stinks, yes, but at least you are not losing nutrition that the baby needs or getting dehydrated. If you continue to not eat anything you'll not only be nauseous but have dry heaves and get weak and perhaps dangerously ill.
With my last two pregnancies I finally resorted to taking phenergen (a prescription medication) on days when the sickness was so bad I couldn't function - and I had two toddlers to look after. But I tried to only take the pills when I needed them. I stopped using them in my 2nd trimester.
I have tried EVERYTHING for morning sickness and nothing worked - crackers, soda, sea bands, sound therapy, preggie pops, you name it! Most did little if anything at all for relief.
There's only one thing I haven't tried and that's the battery-powered bands you wear on the wrist that emit a little pulse to an accupressure point which controls nausea.
Next time I am pregnant I'm going to try that.
Sorry you feel so bad....been there....and I'm with you in spirit!

You can ask your doctor for medications. But these are things I did to help mine:
Avoid inhaling strong odours, whether good or bad. They upset the tommy at this stage and make one feel like vomiting. You should know the odours that disturb u by now. Perfumes really disturbed me so I stopped wearing it and my hubby had to stop wearing too! also avoid taking meals that are too saucy.
U may try cracker biscuits also. They help reduce the saliva and vomiting. dont go too hungry b4 eating and don't overfeed. Just little at a time.
Peppermints are good to control salivating.
Congrats on the baby. Dont worry, U'll soon get over this and begin to enjoy pregnancy. It's a great experience, I tell. You'll love it.

im sorry to hear that.. I seriously wouldnt do tea unless your doctor said it is ok. I would contact your OB/GYN and let them know about nausea.. they can give you something to ease it.. as for the salivary glands.. honestly i have no idea because i never experienced it. i would eat crackers before getting up in bed and through out the day.. something dry can do it.. but here is a site to go to and maybe it can help. ..
