4X^3+4=0
Subtract 4 from both sides
4X^3 = -4
Divide both sides by 4
X^3 = -1
We know that -1 x -1 = 1, and that
-1 x -1 x -1 = -1
Hence, X = -1

2007-04-28 02:59:08 · answer #1 · answered by RTWS 2 · 1 0

4X^3+4=0
=> 4(x^3+1)=0
=> x^3 +1 = 0
=> x^3 = -1
=> x = -1

if question is
4x^3+4=0
4(x^3+1)=0
x^3+1=0
x^3=-1
x=-1 answer

2007-04-28 10:41:07 · answer #3 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

4x^3+4=0
4 is common in this eq,
=4(x^3 + 1)=0
=(x^3+1)=0/4
=x^3+1=0
=x^3=-1
therefore,
x=-1

2007-04-28 10:16:04 · answer #4 · answered by twinkle 2 · 0 0

4x^3 + 4 =0

subtract 4 from each side

4x^3 = -4

divide both sides by 4

x^3 = -1

It should be fairly obvious that the answer is

x=-1

2007-04-28 09:54:56 · answer #5 · answered by Simon T 6 · 2 0

4(x^3+1)=0
x^3+1=(x+1)(x^2-x+1)=0
if we consider x+1=0 then x=-1 is one answer

otherwise

considering x^2-x+1=0 we get
x=(-(-1)+/-sq rt(1-4)}/2=[1+i*[sq rt(3)]}/2
