my mitsubishi chariot takes too long to engage gear 2 and when it evantually engages to No. 3 it dis engages?

it is an auto transimission

Electronic controled auto trans problems. It is time to replace the transmission. What does the fluid look like? Smell like? Burnt and dark get ready to spend$$$

It's stuffed. Get it into an automatic gearbox specialist. Not your regular mechanic. They'll put it on the monitor and manually adjust the bands if it's able to be fixed. Otherwise you maybe looking at a gear box rebuild.
