You sadly have learned the hard way, if you have done a complete reinstall they are lost. Get yourself a USB hard drive, you can get 400gig for under £100 smaller ones cheaper. Then back up all your important files music, Pics etc at least once a week. II know it's too late now but in future you will be safe.

It depends how you reinstalled Windows.

If you did a clean install that included formatting the hard drive then no.

If you just reinstalled Windows without deleting My Documents then they should still be there.

If you have reinstalled the whole thing, then I'm pretty sure the pics are gone. Otherwise you could have done a system restore to the way it was on a certain date. Always back up your pics on a CD, flash drive, or something else separate from your computer in case something happens to it.

If you did not format your hard drive you could try booting up in safe mode-log in as administrator-run regedit{ be careful here as you could upset the computer if you change something you should not!}-search for your file and give your user name full admin rights under permissions-reboot & log in as normal and see if your files appear.

E-mail for futher instrutions if required.

Good Luck.

Well unless you backed them up it may be quite hard, They may still be on your hard drive, but you may want someone who knows what they are doing to have a look. Did you save any to different web sites? photobucket, deviant art, etcetera.

You can recover them only if you have saved them on a flash memory, or a CD/DVD.
