Normally I don't have a problem with Liberals, I don't agree with you, but I accept your right to disagree. But this is completly idiotic. JROTC was the greatest thing to happen to me in High School, hands down. I live in North Carolina, and at my unit, the instructors first priority is to get his cadets into college. Not the military.
Some things you may not know about JROTC:
The Honor Code: "I will not lie cheat or steal, nor toleate those who do."
Our Core Values: "Integrity first, service before self, excllence in all we do."---NOTE: NOT military service, service to the community.
Finally, the MIssion of JROTC: "To develop citizens of charachter."
Basically what I got out of that article is that Libs are a bunch of anti-military cowards who are destroying a very good thing.
Your thougts on this? Please no stupid comments, just intelligent debate.

Tokoloshimani: Thats over 200 students in every school, not exactly a small number. Another thing, San Fran is one city: there are over 110,000 cadets enrolled in just AFJROTC worldwide, I couldn't find the numbers on Army, Navy, or Marine Corps JROTC. Just because it effects a small group of people does not make it right!

Some quotes from catdets in ROTC at UNC, this IS college, though, and a there is a military commitment, but most of the quotes apply to JROTC.

It is sad when a positive organization is banned because of twisted political agendas. Whats next, the boy scout / cub scout program?
This is also the place that recently voted to ban plastic bags because they were a threat to the environment. Wasn't it the liberals that decades ago fought to get plastic bags in because paper bags were a threat to the environment due to all the trees being cut down?
San Fransisco has become a lunatic fringe area.

Not all Libs fall into your category. I love JROTC. I was enrolled in it for three years in High School and loved every minute of it. It does teach character, honor, and gives some people a goal and a sense of belonging that they might not of had elsewhere. About half of the people in JROTC with me did not enlist in the military but we often talk about our time in JROTC with pride and we remember the fun we had.
Not only am I not anti-military, I am a veteran and credit the military for teaching me lots of things. It also was one of the best experiences of my life.
You must consider, this is the same city that wishes to be a sanctuary for illegal immigrants. In the article you provided, the last line was about making race a factor in deciding which schools kids will go to. Doesn't sound like a very smart group to me. The other thing they failed to consider, is that the school receives federal funding for having ROTC.
I'm sorry for the 1600 kids who are going to lose a great program.

Well, that explains it. Liberal ideas of Honor, Values, and Character are completely distorted, so of course, they want to change all that.
They would much rather have a Lesbian teach a class on "fisting" than take a chance that someone might be attracted to the US Military.

I agree with the decision. Why should the citizens have to pay for this program through the public school system?
I'm not saying the program isn't valuable for the participants but why does the school district have to pay public money?
"The school district and the military share the $1.6 million annual cost of the program, with the military paying $586,000, or half the salaries of 15 instructors -- all of whom are retired military personnel. The district pays the other half of salaries and $394,000 in benefits. does the school district "

I know what you mean. I'm not a liberal, and thought this about the JROTC in San Fran thing was just going way out there.
Next thing they'll be denying the boy and girl scouts meeting places if it's in a government building.
Liberals have contempt prior to investigation syndrom.
I was in the Civil Air Patrol myself, and they tought those things. Yes it is directly related to the Air Force, and I did end up joining the Air Force later on, however, that was MY choice.

I agree. I was in JROTC in high school, went on to the Army, served until I retired.
JROTC does teach core values of honor, integrity, service, and excellence.
But, we're talking about San Francisco, where normal rules of sanity don't apply.

Mike Savage tells the truth about the neo-communists who have ruined San Fransicko for all decent people there. I would not go there at gunpoint. I keep expecting it to rain fire and brimstone there any day now.

You have just gotten your 'wake-up call' . Our school system is rife with foolish liberal idealism . Although terrible, this is just one more example of how their ideals are destroying our country right before our very eyes . Liberalism walks in the door carrying signs and messages of peace and understanding , and it's hard to disagree with that, but, but, but, that is not their ultimate goal . They've been revealing their ultimate goals a whole bunch in recent years and ironically it resembles much of which they claim to be against . That's because IT IS hypocritical to be a liberal these days . And precisely why nearly every issue is skewed towards their ideals , despite proof that it just doesn't work !!
