Natural wild mice have a coat color of a mixture of individually colored hairs, brown, gray, white, and other colors, which is called "agouti", after the species of rodent in which this "wild" color was first scientifically described.

Captive bred mice, used for science experiments, come in various monochrome colors as well as agouti - white, red, brown, gray, etc. Some white mice are true albinos, lacking any pigment of their own. Novel colors have been introduced into albino lab mice using gene insertion techniques. One such introduction includes a pigment similar to the fluorescent green of fireflies - thus, "green" mice have actually been created. I do not know whether the green mice have the ability to bear green offspring, but there really are such things as green mice.

I used to live on a farm. Mice came in one colour - brownish grey. Anyhing that did not blend in with the surroundings got spotted by cats or hawks very quickly and eaten. Coloured mice were bred for research and as pets.
