The seahorse is an interesting animal to learn about. Here are some facts.
The seahorse is a vertebrate who lives in and around the coral reef. The plants and animals on the coral reef help hide the seahorse. To protect itself, the seahorse changes colors to blend in with the background. The seahorse does not have many enemies.
The seahorse swims differently than other fish and sea animals. It swims upright. The seahorse is a very slow animal. The seahorse eats tiny forms of animal life by sucking through its mouth. Seahorses can move their eyes in different directions at one time. The seahorse reproduces when the female gives the eggs to the male. He gives birth to them.
There are 150 different kinds of seahorses in the world. Seahorses measure between 1 inch and one foot. Some seahorses are "threatened"; Giant, Dwarf, Knysa, Lined, Long-snouted, Short-headed, Slender, Short-snouted, Three Spotted, and White's Seahorse.
I hope you liked learning about the seahorse.

VERTEBRATES:
Animals with an internal skeleton made of bone are called vertebrates. Vertebrates include: primates, such as humans and monkeys; amphibians; reptiles; birds; and, fish.
Although vertebrates represent only a very small percentage of all animals, their size and mobility often allow them to dominate their environment.
INVERTEBRATES:
Of the million or more animal species in the world, more than 98% are invertebrates. Invertebrates don't have an internal skeleton made of bone. Many invertebrates have a fluid-filled, hydrostatic skeleton, like the jelly fish or worm. Others have a hard outer shell, like insects and crustaceans. There are many types of invertebrates. The most common invertebrates include the protozoa, annelids, echinoderms, mollusks and arthropods. Arthropods include insects, crustaceans and arachnids.

No, they are vertebrates - they have backbones which is what signifies a vertebrate. They belong to the phylum Chordata - the vertebrates. They are like fish, which are also vertebrates. Invertebrates are bugs, basically.
