It happens to me all the time, and in different tempratures. here is some help for ya.

shut off the power to the furnice, remove the two small screws from the ignition transformer, and tilt it back, There is a round black device with a clear glass lense, that looks into the fire chamber. It has two YELLOW WIRES on it. Make shure that is clean, and no soot at all in that lense. That is a safty device, that shuts the unit down after so many seconds, if it dectects no flame.

ALSO, while that transformes is tilted back, there is an odd looking flane defuser that has to be clean also.
while your at it, reolace the filter element, and fuel nozzel to.

Do you have a chimney or a power vent? Have you read the small print on the re set button- like how long to press and then release. When was the last time it was cleaned. It could be a thermostat. Most discouraging fact is- it could cost a lot of money and happen again. What ever happened to oil heat being the cleanest and most care free and cheapest way to go. Good luck

It sounds like the flame out safety sensor is telling the pump to shut down. This happens so that the furnace doesn't overload with fuel and catch fire. The most common reason for this is that the spark igniter isn't working right to start the flame.A clogged injector nozzle can do this too.Be careful not to get too much fuel built up in there,it's dangerous.

Its a tip alright. Motor is overloaded and the trip is what saves it from going real bad. You have a short or a ground in the windings or bad bearings. Unlikely that overload switch is bad.

Plugged orifice in burner. Have a qualified, LICENSED, contractor check it out. You don't want to be messing around with a fuel oil burner. Good luck

Stop hitting that button you probably have no ignition and will flood the fire box, or you could have a bad fire monitor control but this is doubtfull, cal a competent technician.

Check the position of the thermostat [within the heat exchanger]
If OK, then most often the thermostat is not functioning properly
