Yes at No Mercy '99 Triple H was challenging Stone Cold for the World Title and Vince before the match took Triple H's Sledgehammer away but got punched by him, in anger Vince screwed the Game out of the title at Survivor Series '99 in a Triple Threat including The Rock and Big Show (who won). After that DX (who at that point weren't pranksters they were a cheap, thuggish heel gang) starting going after the McMahon family and Triple H married Stephanie (against her will) and him and Vince had a No Holds Barred Match at Armageddon '99 stipulation if Vince won the Wedding was annulled, if Triple H won he got a title shot, HHH won. Then at Wrestlemania '00 Vince still babyface represented the Rock but turned against him and that's when he went back to heel.

You've got to keep in mind, fact is: since 1982, Mr. Vincent Kennedy McMahon has ran the show with a vision. His vision was to innovate a northeast promotion into a worldwide conglomerate. He accomplished that feat, brung in marquee Superstars that helped the WWE to be what it is today, kudos goes to: Hulk Hogan, Roddy Piper, Paul Orndorf, "Cowboy" Bob Orton, Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka, The Junkyard Dog, King Kong Bundy... etc., etc., etc.

yes. during the alliance, vince mcmahon was the leader of the wwf faction (face) while shane o mac and stephanie mcmahon were co-leaders of the wcw/ecw faction (heel)
