Somewhere between 5 minutes and 6 hours.

The number of cell matters, but what really matters is the total volt-amp-hours, i.e. energy, stored in the battery. Cells come in a range of different capacities to store energy.

For your laptop the voltage will be fixed, but somewhere on the battery pack will be an Ah rating. The bigger this number the longer you will keep going.

Note that that is a nominal specification for a new battery. Typically new batteries will have slightly higher capacities than the number on the pack, but the capacity will drop over time and the number of charge/discharge cycles.

The other thing that matters is how fast you use up that energy.

If you just play solitaire on a dim screen then you are not using much power and you can play for a long time - provided the laptop power management is set up properly.

If you play some cpu intensive, gpu intensive game that spins the hard drive, with a bright screen while listening to a CD play in the optical drive then you are going to need to find a wall outlet soon.

that is a trick question......if the battery is brand new and has been fully charged prior to use and you only boot into the OS and don't run anything else on it you rbattery could last 4 hours or more.....but as soon as you start running programs that goes down, and depending on what you are running and how many other resources its using and the age of the battery and how many times its been recharged and whether those recharges were only after the battery was completely drained or just partially drained you range is from 20 minutes to 6 hours.
