while i was living in Austin, I was working overnight and we had a kitchen exhaust fan catch fire (electrical), and no one noticed it until a Fire Marshall from out of town came to the front desk and told us about it. He was so laid back, and kept a few people from getting worked up while me and the morning desk agent ran to the kitchen and handle it..
Funny thing the fire was caught in time, the extinguisher got locked up and would not stop spraying until it was empty. The yellow chalky cloud did more damage then the fire did

yes.three times,we had three fires in a factory i worked in.thats over the space of ten years,so its not as bad as it seems.
