Always treat others in the way that you would wish to be treated yourself.
I try my best to stick to this as I believe you can't go far wrong with people if you take this approach.
Have to admit it's not always easy though!!

there was a point a long time ago when i had to "put my money where my mouth is" concerning my basic beliefs and principles. i was to write down what those beliefs and principles were with no ambiguity. i was to be as clear/specific as i could be. i was told (and i believe now) that as long as my principles are in my head, i can rationalize little deviations, sort of white lies. BUT, when they are on paper they become clearer and solid. when writing them down, that's where the decision to stick to those principles or trash them is made. what i have now have been refined out of the shapeless mass that was in my head. it makes it easier to say "i don't like/agree with that, so i wont go along with it because it goes against my principles"

My principles are: 1. Stay away from negative people. 2. Be kind. (even if it's difficult) 3. Give the benefit of the doubt. 4. Be responsible. 5. Quality of friends is more important to me than quantity. 6. Ignorance is not acceptable. 7. Racism is not acceptable. 8. Respect other people's viewpoints, even if you don't agree with them. That's all I can think of right now.

My principles are too complex, numerous, and abstract to describe.
They regulate my mindset, mannerism, speech, love relationships,
parenting, and other things.
'Principles' is nearly a synonym of 'morals'. A principle is a rule
that a person follows, against their short-term desires, for the
purpose of long-term gain and/or an ideological end.
A person adheres to one's principles via focus, and can also
use shame to motivate themself.

I live my life completely on principal, just say no! Principal is the same as right and wrong to me, with a few exceptions.

principles are rules of conduct...for instance ethics, morals, and etiquette. Things like church commandments and laws for living. Like "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" type things.
