Spot putty = ?

And where could I get some please ?

I've got a run of scratches in my car's paintwork, some quite deep, and I want to repair them. They aren't just scratches in paint... won't polish out, and highly visible in my car's black paintwork.

I've been following this tutorial below. It has a flash video "how-to" and it seems good enough for a reasonable result. (although I've got extra products too like etch primer and panel wipe and tak rags)

It's just I don't know where to get spot putty from - or if it's called something else in the UK, or if we even have an equivilent product?

Thanks if you can help. :)

Hi it's called 'body filler'... try this link

http://www.motortraders.co.uk/carcare-bodyrepair-bodyfillers.htm

or I suggest ebay may be a cheaper alternative source to get it from

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Easy-sand-Car-Body-Filler-Dent-Repair-Protection_W0QQitemZ190107691481QQihZ009QQcategoryZ9886QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Other than that I suggest using a local car spares and repairs shop near to where you are.... yell.com should locate one for you

http://www.yell.com/ucs/UcsSearchAction.do?scrambleSeed=97612373&keywords=&companyName=halfords&location=UNITED+KINGDOM&search=SEARCH&searchType=advance

Halfords are a well known UK shop throughout the country.

Or search using "Car Accessories & Parts" in the product/service search box should give you other options.

Hope this helps.

for the reason that's a clean motor vehicle verify to work out in the journey that your coverage will disguise the touch-up or perhaps the guaranty some fairly do. in spite of the shown fact that if that's no longer the case & they gained't disguise the price, definite, flow to an motor vehicle save and get a coloration journey touch-up paint. verify to work out if Krylon has the colour journey. while you're unsure what precisely the colour is on your motor vehicle "via call" touch the broker you got the motor vehicle from they could have that information. then you definately can get an exact journey to touch-up the scratches. observe which you may desire to compound the climate which you touch up so which you get an incredible even combination and if conceivable clean coat it, you will by no skill be attentive to that the scratches have been there. good success

It s not body filler . Body filler refers to something like P38 or the stuff I get at the Range ... namely a styrene based two-part filler. This is what the US has but they know it as Bondo as it s Bondo s biggest seller in their range.

Try this as it s the single part, air drying equivalent to the Bondo Spot Putty and Glazing repair tube stuff... have a look
