I am not sure about an irrational fear of enclosed car parks. I do not feel particularly safe in them because of the safety aspects of mugging etc as they can be isolated at times but i try to walk with confidence and stay as short a time as possible.
I do understand what you mean about the round and round bit. It can make you feel a little disorientated or dizzy and i find it quite frightening driving up them as you look so close to the wall but i have never hit anything i just go slowly.
I dont think you are mad. I think practice may make this feeling subside over time. If you feel panicky you need to work out what it is you are actually afraid of - try and narrow it down and be precise. Then make a list of your fears and work through them one by one starting with the least challenging. Keep practicing until the anxiety comes down. You will build confidence and be ready to tackle the next problem. Keep doing this until all the fears have been eliminated.
