1. Payed all UN dues on time and in full, and perhaps increased it's obligation

2. Relinquished it's place on the UN security counsel.

3. Relinquished it's veto power in UN votes.

4. Allowed the UN to make all decisions on how the US will involve itself in world affairs.

5. Allowed the UN to make mandates regarding US law, such as repealing the second amendment as the UN wants us to.

6. Surrendered the US military to complete UN control.

If the US would take at least these minimum actions would the left accept that as proof that the US has the best intentions in world affairs?

They will always find something to whine about, not to mention they would think it was some kind of conspiracy...

To a few people above me: There is no such thing as a half-way intelligent lefty. Also, I'm glad Bush doesn't roll over to the UN. To the person who asked the question I say yes. The left would give up sovereignty. They would only do this if Hill Dog and Pelosi were given seats of power in the new Imperial World Order that the UN would become.

No I would be happy if the UN was disbanded ans all the files brought to justest and then burn all knowledge of the UN. I would be happy if our government stayed out of world affairs and attended to domestic affairs. Let the world know we will not be trading for the next 20 years and watch all the bullshit come to a halt. But the people in the US really don't care enough to stop working and take action so therefore its pointless

Oh you know once you gave in to those demands they'd think of some other way that you and I were responsible for every mess that insues afterward. Even though they would swear up and down that they know exactly how to fix the worlds problems. If the US relinquished its military to the UN they wouldnt be the US military anymore because they would no longer operate in the US interests.

I do it via asserting something to the abuser. A mushy answer turns away wrath, or often does. i does not say something or action picture if i became into via myself, by using abuser turning on me. i could say to the toddler, tell your different verify, Grandparents, a school counselor. Ask them to call toddler centers. Or honey call 911 and tell the police. Abusing you is against the regulation, and that they gained't be waiting to abuse you anymore. i be attentive to they're 5 yet i be attentive to 3 enormously intelligent 5 year olds. and that i be attentive to 3 Adults basically are not waiting to regulate themselves, or fairly have self assurance what they're doing is effective. I want them help and desire they could see the sunshine and alter. i'm fairly bored with seeing hate in this international too. each time I see some type of it my abdomen feels queasy and my heart actually hurts. this is the place the sympathetic and para-sympathetic equipment runs in our physique. that's a real element. some peoples structures are basically made greater comfortable then others.

Don't be silly. Regardless of what many conservative pundits would have you believe, the choice isn't complete imperial domination of the world or rolling over and playing dead. Politics is in no way a dichotomy, it's a continuum, and anyone who would have you believe otherwise is just foolish. And no, speaking as someone who is fairly extremely "left," that would not make me happy. In fact, the suggested actions are frankly absurd, and no halfway intelligent lefty would take them seriously for a moment. But if I assume you are actually seriously asking the question, of course the US has a role to play in world affairs, and as one of the sole superpowers right now, points 2 and 3 would be laughable. In no way would we do this, nor should we. As for 4, 5 and 6? What does the UN have to do with these matters? Yes, I think world opinion should be taken into consideration, and if there is a preponderence of opinion on one side, we should definitely examine that opinion, and look for any validity behind it, but surrender all sovereignty? Please, my sides are hurting too much...stop making me laugh. We don't require any other country to do those, unless it is willing, the UN doesn't have the ability to compel anyone.

Gotta love the maturity of political discourse in our country nowadays...

Let's just get the UN out of our country, and blow them off like an ex.

I was under the impression that since Bush totally ignored the UN and their recommendations, that we did not need them anyway.
