If you were violently raped and given the opportunity to punish the rapist in any way you saw fit, what would you do?

No, because I'm doing a comparative research paper on women's sense of propriety in social settings and their feelings about what constitutes justice.

For me - I'd like mine held down or strapped down tight so I could beat and stomp the sh*t of them. Or hang them. As death is what they really deserve.
I had a boss suggest once that the criminal should be put in a room facing the victim and if not the victim - the family members and friends of the victim to do whatever the h*ll they felt like. Beating them within an inch of their life. That way when they or as they healed - they would remember that experience for what they did to another. And hopefully that would rehabilitate them
Anyway, this I know for sure - a woman doesn't like to be raped by any person, then raped again by the system that was designed to protect people of crimes and criminals. Especially career criminals in the revolving doors of the "justice system".

I don't know that my answer will be accurate, because I think my feelings would be very, very different now, considering it logically and unemotionally, compared with the emotional and physical invasion of a rape and the feelings of helplessness that would ensue. Knowing myself, under either circumstance, I would want the chance to face my rapist, and tell him exactly what I thought of him, provided I knew myself to be safe. I would probably also want him castrated, as it would be the only way I could be secure in the knowledge that he will never again be able to inflict the same torment on anyone else (without a great deal of creativity, that is :) ) I would like to think that I wouldn't require him to be raped as well, if only to spare someone else the unenviable task of performing the job. I probably would also really really want him restrained so that I could just haul off and slap the bastard, probably kick him in the soon-to-be-nonexistant offending areas :) That's my best guess.

My rapist was sentenced to 7 years and got out in less than 4. Two days after he got out he was in an accident and was left paralyzed from the neck down. That was justice.
