Because rightly or wrongly the scotish hav a reputation for being so so she is just following a stereotype . Or are you just seeing her through a streotype .
i seem to rember that the scottish give better than the others in the British isles to Charity , perhaps they believe those that can be should be self reliant .
Generosity of money and spirit vary between indicviduals ,one can expect that people will not be ''Genourous to onself , but i think meaness to oneself is very unflattering too , particulary if you expect others to foot the bill for you .

What with money, or the other thing? as for money I dunno how it can affect a whole nation but the Scots have a bad reputation for not spending money on others its a fact.
