So i have bought a rechargable mouse, the sort that sits in a cradle. In the instructions it says if your mouse runs under PS2 mode you need to turn off your computer and remove the existing mouse but what does this PS/2 mean. All I know is that my existing mouse and keyboard are wireless and have a little box that is plugged into the USB.Many thanks for any help.

PS/2 is the old style mouse plug so no yours isn't, it's USB. Good luck.

i think ps2 is the type of slot which a standard wired mouse cable fits in. there should be 2 on the back of ur pc, one for a keyboard cable and one for a mouse cable.
i have no experience with a wireless or rechargeable mouse though.

PS/2 refers to the mouse and keyboard connector. It is usually colored green and plugs in to the green slot in a computer. All desktops have that green slot at the back of the PC case. More details here,

If your computer is a new laptop, it may not have that PS/2 slot and just USB ports. You need a PS/2 to USB adapter if that is the case.

It won't take rechargeable batteries? Sorry, but that sounds like bollocks to me - a battery is a battery, and most come in rechargeable versions.
