Go to start menu and click on Control Panel, click on sound and audio devices and you will be shown and you will see a"card" marked volume. Click on that change the volume setting and OK it and you should then have sound.
Best of luck. Mine goes away from time to time for no reason and that is how I restore it.

Do a system recovery-

Sometimes mine would go, and all it required me to do was-

1. Go into control panel.
2. Click on sound, speech and audio devices.
3. Click on audio devices.
4. Go to device volume and raise to high.
5. Also check your speaker volume, make sure they are on high

Make sure the mute box is not ticked, check all cables connecting to computer.

If you have a brand new computer (HP, Dell, etc), go to the manufacturer website to find the model and download the appropriate audio driver.

If you have a generic brand, go to http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=14&PFid=23&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false
to find and download your driver.
