Amerigo Vespucci, Italian explorer. It's based on him allegedly telling a story about his insurgence to the west before anyone else (I'm writing from memory), which seems to have been proven a lie since then, but the name has stuck... I suppose it should have been called something to do with Christopher Columbus (Cristobal Colon).
Life's like that... the opportunitist cashes in on other's work.

Actually, an ashtray would probably be an improvement over our current leadership. Just changing the guard would promote us highly in the eyes of the world. It might even make us a bit safer. And our economy would certainly improve once this obstructionist president is gone.
