You need to change your password under the admin account.

When you turn on the computer press F8 right after the Bios test screen. Log on under Administrator and then go to user accounts and change your password.

Good Luck!

The following offers a solution (although somewhat involved),
http://www.softwaretipsandtricks.com/forum/windows-xp/26273-forgot-my-password-now-its-expired.html

The program mentioned Active Password Changer, is free and found here http://www.soft3k.com/Active-Password-Changer-p316.htm

I've not run into this problem and I've owned a few laptops...good luck, perhaps a better solution has already been provided (or will be)

is the problem on boot up, or logging onto windows?
if it's logging on, have you tried just cancelling?
if it won't boot it's a bit more complex!
