It's not true that everybody are not satisfied with what they have, there are some who have realised the un worthiness of going behind material pleasures. And to reach that reality that nothing is permanent is the very purpose of life. See we associate ourselves with our body, physical and social processions etc. To reach a state of contentment , we have to go deep within ourselves , where every desire and question gets answered without asking any. How to do that ?. through meditation. It takes us to the very core of our existence and it's made of only one substance ,that is LOVE........

Because society will not allow it. Its all about the money now, how big of a house you have , how expensive a car you drive. Everything is about competition. And this is the one thing that truly upsets me because I have nothing. Me and my kids were homeless 6 months ago, now I have a apt. not a big one but a nice one. I am happy as a bug, people that are like that have never went without, If you live from house to house and with people you really appreciate what you have when you get it. I don't sweat bigger and better things anymore I am happy with what I have.

Now-a-days people are absorbed in materialism. That is why, people are not satisfied with the thing they have. They want more and more other ones. The list is endless. This is happening because of spirtualism is taking back seat.

Because they want what you have. It's hard to have less and not want what someone else has. . .or someone else's children have and yours do not. What's wrong with wanting more? I think the psychology of being satisfied with the things you have is good, but it sure stifles ambition and creativity. What would happen if we had no dreamers?

Number one is taken to be god. All other individuals are equated to zeros. The zeros gets their value only when the number '1' or multiples of '1' precedes the zeros. The problem is that you can add any number of zeros after the numeral '1'. There is no limit. Our desires are like the zeros added after number one. Hence there is no satiation limit for individuals.
