With me it just happened. Two years later I had an easy and perfect pregnancy and delivery.

I had an early miscarriage (9 weeks). For me there was some spotting for two to three days before the miscarriage. It started brown and got redder, then I lost it a few days later. There was a fair bit of cramping at the time of the actual miscarriage. The doctor did an ultrasound, and there was nothing that could be done, as the little one had stopped growing some weeks before, so wouldn't have made it anyway. As many as one third of all pregnancies end in miscarriages, most so early that the women just assume its a late period.
However I did have spotting with two other pregnancies, 1 at 8 weeks, and 1 at 5 months and both were born full term and healthy.
If you have any doubts go and see the doctor, sooner rather than later.

Sadly I had three before I had my son. No signs in the beginning. No warning signs that I can remember. Of course there was a lot of bleeding and later some pretty bad cramping. But no forwarning. Just to show you. I had taken my girlfriend to one of her first Dr. visits and she came out crying saying "there was no more baby" I had to take her for a D&C. It was very sad. But obviously she did not have any warning. Please don't worry. If it happens it is no ones fault.
Once you are past that third month. You can really relax. I don't mean nothing could still happen, but a lot of people now wait till then to announce their pregnancy. But I don't know how!!!!!!
But to answer you, yes it just sadly happens.

Don't worry -the women here know where your question is coming from. Hugs hon. everything will be ok.

i just went into labour. My baby stopped moving at 31 weeks and then a week later I got contraction and went to the hospital where i found out that I was going into labour but unfortunately there was no heartbeat. I delivered my baby daughter at 1.21am on april 17, 2007. I don't think your question is insensitive. Its good that you want to be informed about these things. I think every mother to be worries. I guess deep in my heart i probably felt something was wrong but i didnt get any "obvious symptoms"...

I've had 5 miscarriages with all bar one the first sign I had was I started bleeding! The other one - there were no signs, I miscarried at around 6 weeks but my body carried on as if pregnant (no bleeding, nothing) so it wasnt discovered until my 12 weeks scan!

With the mc that I had I had no warning I was making dinner then it felt like someone reached up inside me and yanked downward scratching as they did so. I ran to the bathroom and filled the toilet with blood It was very painful felt like I was being turned inside out. I was only 7 weeks along. I believe everyones MC is going to be different just as each pregnancy is different and each birth is different. We did have 3 healthy wonderful kids and each of their pregnancies/deliveries were different.
Best of luck to you

It kinda just happens. I was 17 weeks prego when I miscarried. I was in pain for 2 days before I miscarried. And it is a horrbile pain like the worst period of your life.

With my MC I had a UTI and had pain from that but the pain got worse (like contractions) then when I started passing the "stuff" all my pregnancy symptoms stopped almost immediately

With one of mine, I kind of went into labor (at about 10 weeks). I had contractions for about an hour, then it was over.

With the other 2, there was no warning.
