very sorry...i made a BIG mistake...ok here is the correct answer...
x^2 + 10x – 24 = 0
Well, the only way to find x in this quadratic equation is to factor...which u are probably learning in ur algebra studies now...
First, u have to work out what 2 factors, when multiplied together will equal -24...and we find that 12 x -2 = -24...but why not 6 x -4? That also equals -24...answer is because the two factors must also add up to 10...12 x -2 = -24 and 12 - 2 = 10. BUT 6 x -4 = 24 and 6 - 4 = 2!!! So that one can't be used...So it’s like a trial and error type of thing...ok?
Also, another thing to note is that when there is one positive and one negative sign (like in the equation x^2 + 10x – 24) within the quadratic equation, then one of the factors will have a positive sign and the other will have a negative. If both signs are positive (like in the equation x^2 + 10x + 24), then both factors will be positive. If both signs are negative (like in the equation x^2 – 10x – 24), one of the factors will be positive the other will be negative. If however, the negative sign comes first and then the positive (like in the equation x^2 – 10x + 24), both factors will be negative.
x^2 + 10x – 24 = 0 (factor into 2 sets of factors)
(x + 12) (x – 2) = 0 (set each factor equal to 0)
x + 12 = 0 and x – 2 = 0 (then solve for each)
x = -12 and x = 2
So they’re ur answers!! Hope this helps =D

First, your x2 refers to X to the power of 2? Or 2x?
If it's X to the power of 2,
then the answer is:
1. (X^2 +10X -24) =0
factorise to give you
(X+12)(X-2)=0
then,
X = -12 or X = 2
If it's 2X,
then the answer is:
2X +10X -24 =0
12X -24 =0
12X = 24 <-------- bring the -24 over equals to +24
X = 2

X=2 or X= -12
(2 squared =4) (10 x 2= 20)
4+20-24=0
(-12 squared =144) (10 x -12= -120)
144 + -120 - 24= 0

X2 is also de same as 2X. so u will arrive an equation of
2X+10X-24=0
2X+10X=24 (transfer -24 to the other side of the equation)
12X=24
X=2
