When using it as part of the name you capitalize.
Prez. Bush, Prez Clinton, etc.

When using it in general, don't capitalize
I saw ten presidents.

If you were just talking about a certain president, capitalize it
Prez Bush gave a speech. I didn't like it. The President should stop giving speeches.

It think that is about it. If it's general, don't capitalize, if its about someone, captalize it, your question above, shouldn't be capitalized.

Most of the world's style manuals state that a collective noun doesn't have a capitalized first letter. If you are quoting a particular president, however, it does. Like -
Several presidents; President Truman; presidents Bush and Clinton.

Capitalize the starting letter of the word President in an essay because it is the proper formal writing.

It should be capitalized when:
It's in front of the president's name, as in President Bush
It's part of the title, as in The Presidents of Our Country
It's the name of your class, as in "my Presidents class"
Otherwise it should be in lower case.
