but want to go classic style
damn i need gba
they also play REGULAR
GAMEBOY GAMES RIGHT
I COULD GO EVEN MORE OLDSCHOOL
AND get the original red and blue
play regular
gameboy games on a GBA right
and link that way

Depends. Are you talking about trading between LG and FR themselves, or transferring LG/FR Pokémon to a copy of Diamond/Pearl?
If you're playing LG/FR on your DS and you want to trade with someone else playing LG/FR on their DS, you can't . If you're looking to trade between your own copy of LG/FR and Diamond/Pearl, just have a GBA copy of LG/FR in the slot and you're set.

Sorry mate there isn't a cable to link those games. You'll need to get gba's. But since you have a ds why don't you get the newly released pokemon diamond or pearl. They seem to be the best pokemon games ever made.
