I am not affiliated with any party for the simple fact that I have yet to find one which shares the same ideology as I do. I hold some views which are in line with the Democratic platform, and I also have those which are in line with the Republican platform. Furthermore, I have other positions which are not supported by either party. So in my position, it is better to vote based on issues and people rather than parties.

I am a Capitalist. I believe what I believe and I refuse to be pigeonholed into the category of Democrat or Republican. I do however lean more toward Democrat views. I vote for what I believe in my heart is the right candidate or option. I am proud to be a part of the process... being a Desert Storm Veteran. There are not too many other parties either. The two prominent and most visible and vocal are the two you mentioned. Independents aren't that popular this year. Believe it or not some people do choose to have " No Party Affiliation" for good reason.

I have no party affiliation and never have had one. I always try to vote for the best man/woman....at least the way I perceive them to be. Who can really tell until after they assume their place in the White House or Congress? I am not knocking our system but hope that someday it can be made much better than it is. There is too much lying and flip-flopping these days and it is disgusting that these candidates feel that Americans are stupid and believe what these candidates have to say. When I listen to any of them I try hard to cut through the chaff but it isn't easy because many of them are great cover-up artists. I can only hope for the best for this country.

The Democrats and Republicans have squandered the Founders' legacy of liberty and justice under the Constitution. Countless government officials in the legislative, executive, and judicial branches of government ignore their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution.
However Vote for
Ron Paul Because he is a Libertarian running as a Republican.

Non affiliation in a party means that a person wanted to be independent since he does not believe in the platforms of the major political parties.

Americans don't need party affiliation.
What we need are statesmen who will do their damn job.
Bush Jr. did his, and he did it under immense pressure. That's a huge difference than the example being portrayed by the limp noodle congressmen who blow over with every popular wind.
