If I ever ask a question, I will select a best answer, unless there are varying opinions, and I will leave it open for voting so that I can see what people think.

For me, no, I don't simply choose the first or first decent answer. I would pick the best answer which I truly think deserves my vote. There have been times I cast a "No Best Answer" vote too.

Well, is my answer going to be picked as the best? I'm neither the first nor the first decent answer, I guess..

I prefer to select a best answer but there have been a few times when I forgot and it went to voting. Yes I realize that when it comes to voting that people vote for the first decent answer instead of reading all the selections.

Not only do voters pick the first answer, but sometimes the questions are in voting for a long while. I've seen ones in voting status for 5 months.

I always try to pick the Best Answer on the questions that I post. I feel it is my responsibility.

I hate when ppl let questions go to a vote.
The people that vote just choose a # randomly to get points because they've used up their daily amount of answers.
Usually its the 1st or 2nd answer that is choosen but its not always that the 1st or 2nd one is the best answer.

I select the best myself. What's the point in asking if I'm not going to read the answers and select the best one.

Because we live in a democratic country, where we let people choose. Choosing on our own might not satisfying for other. By voting answers are chosen by a lot of people. Well, that's one of the risk. We cant expect everyone to do what we want

I always select best answers. I get annoyed when I answer questions and people never pick best answer. And yes...usually the first answer wins, stupid, I know!

Yes. and why! because the people who answered were jerks and either gave me an answer that i knew was false of just plane did not know the answer and answered anyway with some B.S.. or becuase i was not sure of the answer my self and theyre were so many conflicting answers that i did not know what to think.

I did once because I wanted to go back and read all the answers (there were about 50 or more) but I got busy and forgot and then my internet was messed up....
so alas... it slipped by me and went to vote
