It's not typical....but I don't think there is anything wrong with it. Just make sure that he is being surpervised while on his belly (am assuming that this is when he is lifting his head). Also...if he is supporting his head while being held....just make sure your hand is there to catch his wee neck if he is no longer able to hold his head up and it flops back or to the side!!!
He's probably just a really strong little boy....be aware of other tasks he may conquer early. Like rolling over!!

My son also was lifting his head at 1 day. Just be sure to keep the support there anyway.

Mine was very strong right at birth and could lift her head slightly. Just remember, even if your son seems to have strong neck muscles, that he still needs you to support his head until he's older and stronger.

My brother replaced into doing the comparable and replaced into continually a exceedingly hyper new child. She's additionally rolling from edge to edge now (no longer thoroughly over or something) and he or she's purely a week previous.

Most babies don't - including my 2nd and 3rd, but my first did. He was 9 lbs 5 ounces and very strong. He also flipped from his stomach to his back at one week...
with babies, it is only dangerous if they are forced into an action. If he's doing it alone, just beam with pride and take a bunch of pictures! :)
Congratulations!

I'm sure he's just strong. Some babies do, some others don't. It's perfectly safe, but just in case you still have doubts, ask his doctor at your babies next appt.

My son did that too (we have him on video doing it in the hospital). Just remember that his neck muscles will get fatigued very quickly so be sure to support it at all times.

That's normal. They can lift their heads while on your chest on their stomach.
