The Bangladeshi people are good, sensible muslims. Most Bangladeshi women know that the
'Hijab' is a stupid thing. Thats why most women do not wear it. We have our own culture and believe in religious freedom. Women are getting more educated in Bangladesh. Bangladesh, Malaysia and Indonesia are the best Muslim countries.

Bad Muslims?! Do we blow up people on a daily basis? Do we kill other non-muslims? Do we use religion for our filthy needs? Do we give pain to another man's child because she did not cover her hair.

If you think Bangladeshi muslim women are not modest you are wrong. A woman does not need to hide herself in order to be modest. As for the veil, they do cover their hair when men are around and at nightime. Observe carefully. Bengalis have better things to do in life than constantly thinking about how sex can bring sin.. Furthermore, in Bengal there is a thing called "Respect for Women".

The Hijab and the Bukra are mainly weared in Muslim countries where they beleive it is a sin to look at a girls face and a sin for the girl to show her face. This medieval theology does not make sense in Bengal. Think about it, women in Burkas are the only creatures on Earth without a face.

Sadly because of globalization, this Wahabism is spreading to Bengal just like teenage dating is...

One more thing, if you dont know already, the veil and the burka is a cultural thing. In Bangladesh, they wear what is known as the orna. It is used to cover a girl's hair when she is being watched by too many unknown men. Furthermore, if you go to predominantly Hindu-India, you will see the same thing. Therefore the orna is a legacy of Bangladesh's Hindu culture. Although Bangladesh is mostly Muslim, the practise of Islam here has influence from Bangladesh's Hindu and Bhuddist past.

Actually Turkey is right there along with them. Not all Muslim countries are as strict in their interpretations, and some that you think ARE strict are quite lenient in certain areas you wouldn't expect. The reason behind the differences are just that, degrees of interpretations. In an Islamic country, women should wear the headscarf but it shouldn't be made a law to force her to. Besides, that takes from the intentions of doing good for her God.
Anyways, they're not bad Muslims, just different interpretations.

in the event that they are chuffed that a woman is wearing revealing clothing and don't think of shes oppressed, then why could they be afflicted some lady whose lined herself. Its an previous argument between the way that the British incredibly effected the wearing of the hi jab in Egypt for the time of their occupation, became to attack the clothing that Muslims have been wearing. this is incredibly not something new if we supply in right here, then they are going to slowly maintaining going till theres basically a acceptance left. Be professional selection and its your option to conceal up. in certainty the female who clothing to charm to men is in chains that she might in no way be unfastened from. till she grows too previous and can't compete anymore then the persons will throw her on the scrapheap. Or be a woman who makes human beings she her for herself, for what she incredibly is. A dignified person.

This is a very sensitive and tricky question that you have asked since the Answer to this Q can be very much provocative to some.

As for me, I have been to a few "Muslim Countries" like Pakistan, Iran and Malaysia and found that the girls and ladies would dress up most modestly in Iran and Malaysia. But in Pakistan and Bangladesh they are a bit 'liberal' in the use of Burka or such all body cladding 'chador' since the generation post-liberation of Bangladesh has been influenced by the culture of West Bengal (Kolkata) of India. The ‘liberation’ of women in general has been welcomed here in Bangladesh for the reason that we had been discriminated by the Pakistani rulers for over 23-years in the name of preserving ‘Islam’ and the women also saw the same happened to them when the males of the land were persecuting the females in the name of ‘Islam’ too.

I am in the opinion that the attire worn by the female population of any country should be compatible to their religious belief as well as to their long nurtured culture. This would ultimately result in imbuing the feeling in about half the population who are female to do their daily work without any inhibition, whatsoever those may be. Thereby, the motivation and spontaneity in the female population would contribute towards the development of their family, society and country.

If the female students, housewives and working women of Bangladesh feel that they are comfortable with the attire they wear like Saree or Salwar & Kamiz etc., then let it be like that. Do not impose external fatwa, or will or dogma on others the way we the males would not like to be told what to do or not to do etc, as long as we are not violating any accepted social norm or our country's rules and regulations of dress code, if any.

Our girls and women are already persecuted by the dictates of some Mullahs who would like these helpless citizens to be confined the way the Mullahs were doing during the time of Taliban in Afghanistan and such countries for which our religion ‘Islam’ is being treated as the religion of the medieval people who are not progressive enough to adapt with the modern world. Therefore, let us have a progressive view and we would find that the problem lies with the persons or groups those are asking enforcement of such draconian rules.

However, about the "the teenagers go out on dates" I do not support these acts which is not ‘natural’ to even those who are trying to emulate the downside of western culture prematurely. This is also true that in our kind of South-Asian societies the girls and women are already having lot of trouble interacting with their male counterparts in normal social settings without inviting sneer or sarcastic comments not to mention about bodily harm. If we try to emulate these western culture of dating then the consequences would also come as by-product such as date-rape which the Western countries are also having difficult to cope with. So, if the girls can withstand such assaults on their person then let them get the taste of such freedom and the lessons are better learnt the hard way! If they can get away with such 'freedom' then who are you and me to obstruct them till the time they have not violated the law of the land or existing social etiquette?

Have a nice environment in which you grow strong both as a person and as worthy citizen of the country!

No they are not necessarily bad Muslims, because wearing of the burkha, and other covering garments is not a necessity of muslims, it is every muslim womans choice to wear it or not, and it is more often than not a cultural act as much as a religious act.

Not at all. They just have different customs, doesn't make them less Muslim I don't think. The heart's where that lies, not in what someone looks like.
