Do you have a shotgun? I've always found them to be very effective. It also ventilates the house. I just got a bug zapper in the shape of a tennis racket a couple months ago. The first month I didn't see a single bug. But I've played tennis with a few since then. It works great. Just push the button, and swing. Kills em dead in a heartbeat. If you want one too, They are on sale right now for only $2.99 at Harbor freight tools. I think the stores are only in Ca.

Try a fly swatter and if it take that without complaint, a 9mm handgun is a good choice. Kind of makes a mess though and if you thought your son was freaked out about the bug, wait till he sees mom getting some trigger time!

leave a slice of pizza on the table or something with a strong smell that will get the bug's attention.when the bug takes the bait, use a vacuum cleaner to catch that creep^__^ that's what i usually do. you don't have to touch the bug or hear and see the guts getting squished.

open your doors and windows and chase it out using anything. If that doesnt work then wait for it to land and then pounce on it.

shop vac. Or hairspray it (hairspray kills bugs real quick and is easy to spray at a flying bug)
