The old footbridge on Hungerford Bridge was removed several years ago. There are now two new footbridges either side of the railway bridge. These are called the Jubilee Bridge. You can now get a good view both ways along the Thames depending which one you use.

Take Hungerford Bridge if approaching from Embankment tube station. Use Westminister if approaching from Big Ben.
Don't bother with the tube, it is a nice walk across the Thames.

Must try the Millennium bridge which takes you from Tate Modern Gallery to across the road from St Paul's Cathedral. This is also known as the 'Wobbly Bridge'

Yes, almost all the bridges can be crossed by pedestrians. Hungerford Bridge is essentially a rail bridge but has walking access.

Yes, there are many bridges that one can walk across the Thames on. Going from memory, I believe that the easiest bridge to get to the Eye from is Westminster Bridge.

I'd echo that but sadly the wobbly bridge doesn't wobble any more - the spoilsport engineers fixed it! It's still worth it though. The traffic-carrying bridges all have safe wide pavements, even Tower Bridge.

You can walk over all of them apart from those that carry the trains...
