The error you making is to assume all conservatives have exactly the same views. They don't. Anti-abortion "conservatives" aren't traditional conservatives. They have come to the republican party because the republicans have promised action on abortion. They have little interest in wars like Iraq or any other modern issues. Run-of-the-mill republicans are more political and dedicated to social Darwinism and rule by the rich and elite. These are the ones who strongly support the war.

Many years ago (actually, a couple of decades ago), I read an account of an anti-abortion demonstration.

There was a counter-demonstration by a group calling itself "Ladies Against Women."

I remember only three of the chants I read, the third addresses your question:

Mommies, mommies,
Don't be commies,
Stay at home and fold pajamies.

2, 4, 6, 8
Let's go out and procreate!

But my favorite has always been:

Toot your whistle,
Blow your horn,
We love babies,
Until they're born!

Jon Stewart did a lovely bit when Bush vetoed the Stem Cell Research bill. There Bush was, talking about how deeply he feels that Every Human Life is sacred.

Then the Daily Show played Bush saying,

"Yeah, 20, maybe 30 thousands Iraqis have died." in a real "So, no big deal" kind of way.

Classic.

It's especially ironic when you consider that the very people who claim to want to stop abortions from happening, are the Very Same people who oppose the things that would prevent unwanted pregnancy in the first place: education and birth control.

If they weren't such complete hypocrites, we could reduce the number of abortions to next to nothing.

But they'd rather grown women die in back-alley abortions than support making birth control available, and the consequences of sex understood -- things all genuine humans can agree on.

Why do liberals like to lump everyone that doesn't agree with them into one big clump and call them all by the same name.

If you haven't figured it out yet, most of the anti-abortion folks are also not too keen on the war, even though they probably went along initially because someone convinced them that it was necessary.

And a lot of the pro-war people don't really have opinions one way or another on abortion, other than that they know it's a position that's important to their party to win elections.

There's really not much overlap between these two positions philosophically.

I'm constantly intrigued by how little the left understands mainstream America.

in accordance to Dr. Tom Coburn (Senator from Oklahoma), there are over 40 Million on Social protection incapacity, and the common consensus (interior the government) is that 18 Million of those situations are fraudulent. Why? He did no longer supply specifics, yet once you have a million/2 a ideas, you may desire to be waiting to place that (2-piece) jigsaw puzzle mutually. hint? attempt any/each soppy computing gadget, heart-string, tear-jerk. racist, sexist, religiously illiberal, homophobic, for-the-infants excuse interior the liberal play-e book that would value greater in money, time, workers and black-press to prosecute than to in straightforward terms pay off. 18 Million (somewhat better than some individuals) paychecks for existence to charlatans. have been given any innovations on the thank you to plug up this "sucking chest wound" to the wellness/existence of the completed application ... or in straightforward terms a whiny mouth? Collateral damage is when an innocent civillian is killed by proximity to a war related action, abortion is when an unborn child is intentionally murdered often for convenience.

Bad analogy

could you explain the connection between the two?

Not one person I have ever spoken to, has not wanted our troops home, nor wanted a high body count in a war! Some of us just realize they are doing a necessary evil.

If we do not secure Iraq now, the insurgents, who are funded by the extremists in Iran and Syria, will rule the country, and end up using the countries wealth to sponsor terrorism.

Killing babies, has nothing to do with defending the world.

Im a conservative and I dont like how some use abortion as an out for their irresponsibility. But I do not think it should be illegal.

Your comparison is flawed. Unborn babies have no other form of defense. Those killed in Iraq (civilians) could have risen up (and still can) and throw the terrorists out of their country instead of counting on us to do it for them. As far as the children in Iraq, their parents are responsible for their safety. If they're in an area that's being bombed, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! The terrorists always seem to know when we're coming, no reason an average citizen wouldn't.

Because in Iraq we are not trying to kill innocent people on purpose. In an abortion an Innocent life is being taken on purpose .

Not all Conservatives are pro-life. You are generalizing.

I think loss of life, in any form, is horrible. However you seem to forget WHO is doing most of the killing. It isn't us!
