I am deeply concerned. I am only 14 but I want to go there and just play with all the children and bring over millions of bottled CLEAN water...so many of them die each day from drinking contamanated water....the other day I was cleaning my room and i found 9 water bottles! HALF of them were 3/4 full! I felt so guilty...i wasted so much water when those people cant even find clean water to survive on. In school, for human rights day, I saw so many pictures. A baby dead! On the ground. Another cute boy hysterically crying, unclothed, barefoot, diareaah [the number one killer in Africa]. Its so sad. I want to go there and adopt all of them...i hope to make a difference but it seems like no one else is willing too...why isnt the US doing more to help?!

yes, we have problems in america. EVERY place has problems!! But our problems arent even near as bad as those suffering in Africa. Yes, many people here are homeless. But can they somehow get water thats at least a little suitable? Yes. We offer vacinations a lot of times for the people who cannt afford healthcare. In Africa even the people with some what money cant even get the help they need. Here, we at least have clothes to put on our backs. We have an oppurtunity to live a good life! They dont!!!!! THATS the difference.

i think its great that oprah and bill gates get involved, but so many other people with the money choose to spend it on themselves. It's great to live the "Glamourous" Life but why not share it with the people that actually need it?! I wish I was older now...I know i can try to do things that hellp but I want to be known as a person that actually made a HUGE difference.

I care about what has been happening in africa. I mean since history north africa sold people that lived in south africa into slavery. Now days women who are beautiful from young ages to older are being raped, beaten, burnt, and experiencing all kinds of violence. God will prevail I know, but we need to do something as well. Yeah even though America is a wealthy country, Doesn't brittain have some kind of ownership towards Africa? Don't they care about their citizens or the people of the country? It is inhumane for anyone to go thru what these people go thru. In Ethiopia, there is starvation and poverty. Darfur there is Genocide, Sudan, Somalia, and Liberia there is War. No peace seems to be exsistant in Africa. The Congo is in constant disaster. Either the native people are being forced off their land or the animals are becoming more endangered. We have to be considerate of all life on this earth. God has left it in our hands to prosper. How can that happen if we don't try and make a difference in Africa. Why do people have to suffer when they have a job in the diamond minds. Those are expensive items. The people who do find a diamond in the mines only get paid cents per diamond. They lose limbs, life, family, and freedom. This is hell on earth. We need to stop this nonsense the future will not be if this continues.

I apploud your interest in such a young age. I hope there will be more like you. I myself, I am too concerned with what is happening in Africa. I have befriended through pen pal a young men in Africa. And I occassionally am able to assist him the best I can. We have to be so thankful for what we have every day in our lifes.
What you could do is starting collecting coins , penny's and collect them and make other's do the same. Than find an organization like Unicef or SOS Kinderdorf and donate that money . These organization's do all the best the can to help these people in Africa. Amerika too is doing a lot. Look at Bill Gates foundation. They provide medication for HIV and education. Look at Ophra Winfrey and her school in Southern Africa. Not much can be done due to lack of African government involvement. Cause they do not help their citizens. They leave them like they are so they can indulge themselves with the riches of the land. It's so sad.
Get involved with the UN or with Unicef. Good luck and get your school involved as well. Every bit helps.

Try and begin to understand politics and you'll have your answer. If you really are 14, then you should be proud of yourself for already having the frame of mind of a highly educated adult. It's reassuring to see that ignorance is less prevalent in today's youth

I care. My church has done some work there, and I'm hoping they will be able to raise more money and gather more people to go there again. God Bless Them All, especially the children and the elderly.

I EMPATHIZE with suffering globally. But truly there is enough suffering and problems in anyone's own backyard to blind them from strangers problems thousands of miles away.

Unfortunately, my young friend, there are plenty of kids living in squalor, drink crappy water probally just miles from your own home.

You need to fix yourself before you can help anyone else, and that goes for nations as well.

but dont stop caring, its an admirable trait.

They need to care about themselves before other people should care. They are starving to death and can't even feed themselves, yet they keep reproducing.

Sounds like survival of the fittest if you ask me. If you can't take care of yourself and your family for 3 generations you should not be bothered with.
