I have a nightmare staff who are all "best friends". Sex and the city types. As a group they decide who they like and who they dont and if you dont fit the profile look out. You are the victim of slander/harrassment, everything you do and say is wrong or stupid (and this is before you have gotten two words out) They have a very slanted veiw of what is going on in the office and will run to management yelling and screaming to get you in trouble every chance they get. Management takes their side. They are cute and thin and the management drools over them so they cater to whatever they want wheather it is right or not. I am a manager over these people and my boss chooses their side over mine. He has no respect for me or my position and has belittled me in front of my staff on numerous occations. I am being transfered to another store but I will still be under the same manager. Why do I feel as though I have to get my stomache stapled to get respect. any suggestions.

I think I would start looking for another job. That whole scenario sounds like a nightmare.

You can record any conversations YOU have with these people. You can keep notes of infractions and when they occur. You can keep a log of how things were handled by whoever. I suspect you should get another job because you don't like how this one is going. However, you can learn to follow your boss's lead and handle ALL your staff in the manner he does. If you have the recorded evidence, he can do nothing. If you don't have plenty of ammunition, you'll be looking for a new job. If you have it, don't reveal it completely, save the best for the NLRB hearing so you can get unemployment, and give it to an attorney who can advise you as to whether you have a case for discrimination.
