A labtop would be the top counter or shelf in a lab .

As opposed to a laptop , which is slang for the portable computers people can put on their "lap" when sitting down .

you probably mean a laptop. There isn't a type of computer called a labtop. A laptop is just a small portable computer that generally has a flip up screen that you would sit on your lap.

if you are meaning laptop:
A small computer that literally can work on your lap...

well now days, the laptop gotten a bit bigger and heavier...
depending on models,
screen is about 12 inches to about 17 inches... weighs about 4-6lbs
most of all it's portable and runs on battery again on type of model 1 hr to 5 hrs on battery life..
some have it own dvd player/recorder, cd player/recorder, built in camera.. tv tuner...
basically it's made for those who need to travel with their computers, to work or school .. or even people with no room in their houses...
