Mongolia is the answer you're looking for. The Spring/Summer is beautiful with its fields and mountains (rich with grass) - the Winter is gorgeous with all its snow. The population isn't much because it's so cold (not as cold as Russia). It's a definite break from society, but those who know each other, stick together.

If this is what you're looking for, then I strongly recommend Mongloia. They're rich in history... are proud, conservative people and cook great meals.

Hope this helps! ^__^

P.S. I'm not Mongolian or have ever been there, but this is what I know from my friends' past travel.

Well most places that are cold speak foreign languages,so unless you can speak the native language of that particular country then it probably would not be wise to move there.

Iceland,i would say is your best bet,it has a small population of only 309,699(April 2007 estimate).
