Yes , people with bad credit have higher risk of theft , embezzlement and other problems related to their finances .
Perhaps apply for jobs (waiter , cook , etc) that do not have those issues until your credit is cleared up .

Yes it can. More and more companies demand a credit and background check before hiring. Especially any job involving money.
Interesting note: According to a recent Human Resources Survey, the new area that companies are looking at before they hire people, is if the have a MY Space page. Not that it is a bad thing, but a lot of people put some pretty stupid things about themselves on there, and this is public information. They don't want anyone to make the company look bad.
