People may stretch that too much, they make it seem like you will see someone getting raped or stabbed right on the street. It's not like that. They also make it seem like the US is a warzone. California and New York are great places to go for a holiday and relax. As for Canada, western Canada is very nice, as well as Quebec. Ever been to Niagara Falls?

Here people usually will not bother you and you find the majority of people helpful. Gang members in this country are usually in the povertystricken areas and they mostly attack other gangs so you should have no problems with them. There is crime here but anywhere you go you could be a victim of crime or be in an accident of some sort so you should come here and not worry so much, just be careful. As far as the rape situation that is mostly happening in colleges and sometimes in bars, so if you go to a bar it is best to have someone you trust with you but that goes for anywhere because some guys will take advantage of girls who have been drinking, once again be careful. As far as destinations go new york city is the first people usually think of and crime there is lower than ever before for that city. In california you could visit L.A., san diego, or san francisco. In florida miami is very nice or you could visit disney world in orlando they have just about every kind of amusement park and also have bars there for nightlife. I'm in georgia so I would recommend the city of atlanta and you will love our southern accents lol. As for canada I think toronto would be first but I would like to visit calgary and vancouver also. Hope this helps you out, have a safe trip!

I think every country has problems with rapists and robberies. I think the Lonely Planet Guidebook was one that had a lot of good travel tips for women travelling alone. Basically, don't let yourself get into uncomfortable situations (although, if you are looking for a guy, that might be tough!).

I think the best thing to do is find a couple of good girlfriends in the place you plan to work, and talk to them A LOT about what's dangerous and what's not. (-: You'll be extra vulnerable, because there are a lot of guys who find Australian accents HOT, too! But if you have some native guides, you can be safer. Read up about customs and dating customs, then trust your gut.

Bad things can happen almost anywhere, but really good things can happen almost anywhere, too! Don't let it stop you from seeing another country and having some fun!

No that is not a big concern in Amereica. New York and the eastern coast of America in general is very fast paced and people mind their buisness and have no time to give you directions etc.. On the contrary the South (Florida etc..). is generally a more friendly place. California is very laid back and is probably a easier place to meet Mr. right although in NY you can meet Mr. Right Now!

You cannot find a place more beautiful than Aspen, Colorado during Christmas. No worries about gangs, just high prices.

Heh, Arizona is a great place to visit, all the 'snowbirds' as we call them (the old-timers from the east coast) come here a lot and LOVE it. Lots to do and much to see. Hope it helps. =)

KENTUCKY.

Kentucky has more shore lines then Florida.
The longest cave system in the world.
Everyone here has accents & most Ky guys are hard workers & Farm FRESH. I love it here (I've been in Ky all my life) Here you can hike, camp, swim, go to the Lexington Horse Park, shop, eat, go boating, go to wineries, ect.... KY has someting for everyone. Ky is pretty peaceful.
